My post at the time was to find a reason and solution to the issue. While there were many interesting replies, no long term fix was ever found. That was the case until now. Just a couple of days ago, I discovered the tons of documented issues with the 3235 movement. I’m disappointed to hear of all of the problems and feel like if I were to purchase a new piece with this movement, I would never fully trust it.
Just curious if the 32XX movement problems have extended to the no-date variant, caliber 3230. Any submariner or OP owners (new releases of 2020) out there with the same movement problem as the 3235?? Specifically, losing time or discovering low amplitude on the movement. Thanks in advance. The best accuracy so far was +1.4s after 28 days, i.e. +0.5 s/d on average. The worst was -2.5 s/d over a week. However, an insufficient lubrication on the second pivot was reported as the reason for sudden drops in accuracy in some 3235 movements irrespectively of the watch model (DJs for example were affected too).
Based on my pristine experience with the 3135 and satisfactory experience with the 3235 (even if hit and miss), I trust Rolex and I have no doubt the source of the problem can be found and addressed, eventually. There's a documented problem with MANY of the 32xx movements. And there are many more that will go on the fritz.
