Can these Rolex movements experience damaged gears if you change the time during certain hours like on an ETA movement? Rolex 3185 vs 3186 Movement. Both the 3185 and 3186 are basically a standard 3135 with the only changes in the date. If you read last weeks blog post, you will note that I voted the Rolex #3135 as my favorite .In order to find out if you have the 3185 or 3186 movement, it is always a safe and good way to try the wobble test. If you set the hour-hand separately the GMT hand won’t wobble if it’s the 3186 . Let's assume Rolex gets off their high horse and comes up with a fix (part redesign or something). If your warranty is up and you send it for a service, you'd hope they would update the movement with the new part(s) as part of the service, without charging you extra. Feb 10, 2015 (Edited) So I just bought a used a Z serial 116713 off of TRF. The seller has great feedback and the watch looks great, however I think the movement may be damaged. The hour hand is not advancing while the watch is running, however the the minute, GMT, seconds and date are all working. Rolex movement #3185.
